Our Vision: Health centers are strategically sought out from key stakeholders, partners and decisions makers to be a key resource and leader in advocating for health access and coverage, and advancing policies that promote access to quality, equitable healthcare.
For over 50 years, health centers have received strong bipartisan support, which is key to HCAN’s patient advocacy and raising the voice of community health centers and the underserved. HCAN spearheads advocacy efforts for the community health centers, focusing on issues that impact access to affordable, community-based health care.
- Policy monitoring and analysis are provided to health centers to help staff, board members and community supporters be better informed to take action.
- HCAN staff play a vital role in educating our federal, state, and local policy makers about community health centers and our role in reducing health care costs, providing access to underserved populations, and our innovative approach to providing care for the entire person.
- Through contacts with State Senators, Administrative Staff and Nebraska’s Congressional Delegation, HCAN is able to provide timely analysis to the health centers on potential impacts of state and national policy changes.
